11 Days Best of Uganda Safari

Embark on an 11-day safari that commences and terminates in Kampala, exploring the south-western region of Uganda. On this adventure, discover Lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest lake in Africa, situated between the districts of Kisoro and Kabale. Take a trek through the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to catch a glimpse of playful mountain gorillas, and hike to Mountain Rwenzori National Park to witness breathtaking scenery and captivating flora. The largest national park in Uganda, Murchison Falls National Park, awaits with visits to the Rhino sanctuary, followed by a refreshing white water rafting experience at the source of the Nile in Jinja.

  • On arrival to Entebbe International Airport you will be welcomed by our safari guide who will brief you about your safari and then drive you to your booked accommodation in Kampala to have a rest and overnight

    DAY 1: TRANSFER TO LAKE BUNYONYI VIA IGONGO CULTURAL CENTER

    After your early morning breakfast our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and start your journey to Lake Bunyonyi. You will have a stopover at the Equator Monument in Kayabwe where the earth is divided into the northern and southern hemispheres. At this very point, a water experiment is also carried out to furthermore explain the geographical discovery of the Uganda Equator.

    While here, you may opt to look into the shops selling African art and crafts. Later you will proceed to Igongo Cultural Centre for an hour’s lunch break. Thereafter, you will have a tour around Igongo Museum which is armed with an illustrious history of the western cultures and the ancient life of the Ankole kings. After this activity, you will continue on the drive to Lake Bunyonyi reaching in the evening for check in dinner and an overnight stay at your booked accommodation.

    DAY 2: CANOEING AND TRANSFER TO BWINDI NATIONAL PARK

    Waking up to the soothing breezes of the beautiful Lake, your breakfast will be served as you prepare for your morning canoe on Africa’s second deepest lake. The sereneness on Lake Bunyonyi is a mind relaxer, its scenic views of relief and the surrounding islands at sunrise offer a rewarding adventure on its own, and with binoculars you can enjoy the plentiful birdlife plus the far-reaching islands.

    Later, you will return to checkout of your accommodation and transfer to Bwindi National park reaching at lunch time. You will then check in and have a sumptuous lunch. Later in the evening, you will have a community walk and visit the Batwa people. The Batwa are the ancient settlers of Bwindi, they were hunters and fruit gatherers back then. They now earn a living by providing a walk-through of their ancient lifestyle in performances of dance and drama, crafts making demonstrations and guiding you through their culture and activities for example how to make fire out of wood. You can opt to buy a craft souvenir for safari remembrance, then later return to your accommodation to dine and have an overnight stay.

    DAY 3: MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREKKING EXPERIENCE

    You will have breakfast as early as 6:30 am then proceed to the park headquarters with packed lunch where you will be briefed by the professional park officials on the code of conduct while visiting the forest. Thereafter, you will be guided into the forest by park rangers to trek the famed mountain gorillas. This excursion will take between 2 and 8 hours to encounter a habituated family of gorillas.

    When you come face to face with a habituated family, you will be allowed to be with them for 1 hour as you watch them play around, jumping from one tree branch to another, take memory pictures. Besides seeing gorillas, you will have a chance to see different bird species, Butterflies, golden monkeys on a lucky day in the forest. You will have a picnic lunch then go back the park head- quarters where you will be rewarded a certificate for completing a Gorilla trek in Bwindi- Uganda. Later on, you will return to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

    DAY 4: TRANSFER TO KASESE- MT. RWENZORI AND GAME DRIVE QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

    You will have a leisurely breakfast followed by checking out and start the journey to Kasese where Mt. Rwenzori the third highest Mountain in Africa is found. You will drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park for a game drive, expect to see many elephants, Kobs, Warthogs, the famous tree climbing lions among many others.

    After this activity you will have lunch and then drive to your booked accommodation at Mountain Rwenzori park for relaxation, dinner and overstay.

    DAY 5: HIKE MOUNT RWENZORI – SINE HUT

    After your morning breakfast, our guide will drive you to the park head quarters where you will meet the park officials for briefing about the hike. With your packed lunches, hiking gears on and your armed rangers you will start the climb using either Kilembe trekking route or Rwenzori central circuit. The hike starts early from the valley floor through tall forest trees of the montane forest zone as you continue on a steady climb with sights of different bird species and some primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys among others, you will listen to the sound of wild chimpanzees from a distance playing and swinging on trees.

    The vegetation along this climb is increble, it is covered by flowers, bamboo thickets, fungi, low shrubs, moss, lichens, and covered vines hanging on tall trees. This day climb will take you to Sine Hut which is about 2,680 metres, while at this hut there is a wooden hut set between tall trees on a narrow ridge where you can sit, relax and enjoy views of the montane forest and the refreshing sound of Enock’s falls crashing down over the rocks as you look down. These falls are about 200 metres from Sine Hut.

    DAY 6: DESCEND – TRANSFER BACK TO FORT PORTAL

    Yow will enjoy breakfast and descend back to the head-quarters from Sine Hut. You will meet our guide who will receive you and then embark on the journey back to Fort portal, upon arrival in Fort you will visit the Toro Kingdom palace and other cultural sites around town. Toro Kingdom is a home of the world’s youngest King, you will get to learn about this kingdom’s history, their culture, dress code, among others then drive to your booked accommodation arriving in time for lunch, check in and relax with an overnight stay.

    DAY 7: TRANSFER TO MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK AND VISIT THE TOP OF FALLS

    After an early morning breakfast, you will check out of the hotel meet our guide and begin the journey to Murchison falls National Park. This drive will be quite long but there’s a lot to see along the way for example the tea plantation, you will go through different towns with a stop for Lunch along the journey. Arriving at Murchison falls national park, you will encounter several baboons along the way to visit the top of the falls. The experience at the mighty falls is so breath taking and photos are quite un avoidable. Later drive to your booked accommodation for check- in, relaxation, dinner and over- night.

    DAY 8 : MORNING GAME DRIVE AND AFTERNOON BOAT CRUISE

    You will wake up to a morning breakfast, then drive to the park entrance for a 5 hours game drive. Expect to see many animals including the giraffes, lions, hyenas, water bucks, elephants, buffalos, antelopes- many species of birds among others. After the game drive, you will enjoy your lunch as you prepare to have an afternoon boat cruise on the Nile River. This cruise is spectacular as it allows you to get up close to the aquatic animals such as hippos, crocodiles, water bucks, buffalos, elephants etc. Among the birds commonly seen on the boat cruise include the goliath heron, king fisher, weaver birds, bee eater, cattle egrets and the beautiful scenery along the bank. At the bottom of the falls, you will climb to the top of the falls and take photos at the rocks below the falls.

    DAY 9: RHINO TREKKING AND TRANSFER BACK TO KAMPALA

    Have a leisurely breakfast at the hotel and drive to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for 2 hours where the endangered White rhinoceros are bred. You will see a number of rhinos and other animals at the rhino sanctuary like antelopes, hippos, monkeys among others.

    Later proceed to Kampala with a stop for lunch to your booked accommodation.

    DAY 10: TRANSFER TO JINJA

    After having breakfast, you will meet our guide and start the drive to Jinja which is famous for the historical attraction which is the Source of the Nile. On this journey you will view a lot of attractions such as Mabira forest, a visit to the source of the Nile and the falls. Have lunch in town and drive to the accommodation for relaxation dinner and overnight.

    DAY 11: WHITE WATER RAFTING – TRANSFER TO KAMPALA

    You will start with breakfast and drive to the starting point where you will be briefed about the experience and the start the amazing rafting adventure. After this activity you will have lunch/BBQ to end the experience then transfer back to Kampala/Airport to catch your flight back home.
