Adventure Summary
This 3 day adventure safari starts and ends in Kigali city, Rwanda’s capital, which is on an elevation of 1567m. Kigali is composed of hills, ridges and valleys, with a population growth of approximately 1 million city dwellers. This exquisite touristy city is considered to be one of the cleanest cities of East Africa. It has a variety of attractions to offer from its unmatched culture, memorial sites, museums, local markets and much more. Therefore, a visit to Kigali is one rewarding adventure in the eastern part of Africa.
This city adventure will be supplemented by a tour to Lake Kivu, a fresh water lake in Rwanda located in Kibuye. It offers a number of sporting activities from fishing, kayaking, boat rides and much more.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
On your arrival at Kigali International Airport, our seasoned tour guide/driver will chauffer you to the hotel booked for you. In case of an early arrival, you will have a short but thrilling city excursion around Kigali town. On the bucket list is the City Central market where you will see how vendors interact with the local people as they carry out business. Later on, you will dine and wine at your hotel and thereafter retire for the night.
Day 2: Transfer to Lake Kivu (Kayak and Sport Fishing)
Early in the morning after breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up by our experienced guide who will transfer you to Lake Kivu. Here, you will meet your guides for a short briefing before you do a kayak. The activity lasts between 2 to 3 hours as you make your way to different small islands. On early mornings, you can always meet fishermen as they retreat back to the shores with their bountiful catch. Lake Kivu offers panoramic views of mountain ranges, valleys and small islands. Following this experience, you will retreat back to your hotel for a lunch break. Later, you will go for sport fishing on Lake Kivu. The most common fish species here include cat fish, lung fish and tiger fish. However, many other types of fish can be found in this lake. After this amazing experience, you will return to your hotel for dinner and accommodation for that night.
Day 3: Kigali Genocide Memorial Site and Transfer Back to Kigali/Airport Drop-off
Early that morning, you will have your breakfast at the hotel, after which you will make for Kigali Memorial Site. The site has the dark history of the unfortunate people of Rwanda, over 25000 of whom lost their lives when they were brutally butchered during the 1994 Rwanda Genocide. It is for this reason that this memorial centre was established in remembrance of the perished souls. Every year, special prayers are held to commemorate this dark patch in Rwanda’s history, and the gospel of peace and love for one another is echoed and re-echoed. The site also holds a museum with literature and Rwandan artistic photos and crafts. After paying homage and leaving this site, you will have your lunch. You will then be dropped off at your hotel in Kigali for an overnight stay, or you can alternatively be chauffeured to the airport to catch your flight.
